As a result of community activity and (we assume) a response to our MP’s recent intervention, the council have cleared a lot of flytipping and litter away from the site this week.
We truly welcome this, it’s a vast improvement and does help to keep the village of Kilsby cleaner.
However, it is but a short term solution to a problem of many years, and doesn’t make the site safer or cleaner. We still believe that the site needs to be closed.
Well done to the community activists and the lads from Norse who shifted an incredible amount of rubbish on Sunday!
We intend to press ahead with meeting Chris Heaton Harris MP at the site on Friday; although he will not see the site at it’s worst, it is still important that he understands the strength of feeling about the layby’s future in our community.
